As you work with your REALTOR® to close on your new home, there are several items to review to be sure your closing goes smoothly:
- Review repairs and/or receipts (if applicable)
- Review title work
- Review your mortgage survey (if applicable)
- Review your closing statement
Also, remember to transfer your utilities before you vacate your existing home. At the closing, you'll be asked for a number of items.
Review this list in advance to be sure you're prepared:
- All funds must be in the form of a certified or cashier's check
- Remember to bring the receipt for the first year coverage of your home owners insurance policy. You may need to bring the policy if it has not been delivered to your lender prior to closing.
